Here's some friends who've tried my material
Really looking forward to getting started with Gypsy Jazz
I can hardly wait Robin. Wish I could have been at Djangofest in WA to check it out first hand, but I’m on tour. I’ll definitely be picking up a copy!
Wow!! This are very good news!!
Thanks guys!
Jumpstart’s got 4 sections with a total of 22 videos, along with chord PDFs and backing tracks.
cheers!

Great show as usual. Thanks for the live link to Djangofest! You made my weekend. 🙂 Warmly, b.
Hi Robin, Just a note to say thanks for
ensuring your gig at Django NW is streamed for those of us who couldn’t make it this year. What a treat to see it live !
Thanks for the live stream djfestNW2010. It’s on the list to attend some day but this is almost as good and loads more doable!
Robin….Jason fixed problem with password issue. Thanks Jason, for speedy solution. Can’t wait to start playing. Cheers!
The jumpsite is amazing ,really enjoying it !
Fantastic. You guys did a wonderful job with the videos. They are exactly what I have been looking for. Really enjoyed the discussion about the embellishments, too. Thanks for my Jumpstart!
Just ordered the last of your books including the NEW jazz licks vol 2 to complete my set. The books are a must have for anyone looking to get up to speed fast. The chords and tabs are a simple and concise road map for improvisation. I have put together a trio and we all LOVE the music. We expect to be gigging soon. Thanks for sharing this music knowledge in such a user friendly way…Highly recommend the books.
Jumpstart is great, Robin seems to know when to point out real time detail that makes each video ‘graspable’, if that’s a word, instantly. What you get from these tutorials is the framework, the context of the tune really quickly. This means if you are hot on freewheeling solos over chorus after chorus, you can add another tune almost instantly, if you are new to playing you can immeadiately back some hot players without wasting time trying to work it out, the harmony options on the intro and outro mean you can drag your mates straight in and create a really charged start/ending, with some great ideas for soloing to a classic tune. Whichever way you look at it, it gets you to a gig, not just watching!
The soloing part, again, gives you the framework to build your own ideas into, a kind of ‘home keys’ so that if in the spirit of the moment you launch off into the unknown you have a number of options to land the plane in style! This alone is enough to give you the confidence to go for it, just playing these ideas alone is a great start to getting into the genre and the ‘learning by doing’ is as authentic as it gets.
Most gypsy players start with this tune so it seems fitting that we all should really, If you want to turn heads, or just feel great that you can do this, you can’t go wrong with this tutorial, when’s the next one?
Wow, these videos for “Tears” that go along with the Licks #2 book are fantastic! Being able to see Kevin comping the chords is great, too!
Robin thanks for the jump-start just what I needed best moneys I have spent keep up the good work and cheerios
Highly recommended !
That´s exactly what this is:
A GYPSY JAZZ JUMP-START.
I´m working on the Minor Swing, and you explain everything in a way that makes it very easy to get an understanding of this (complicated) material – and it turns out to be – NOT so complicated with your approach to the stuff.
Thanks a lot Robin – this is great !
Not to mention your books !
So…
Pick up your guitars and let them SWING !
The Essential Gypsy jazz Vol 2 is excellent and I have been busy absorbing the great music. It is a great idea of Robin’s to put entire choruses together as this give me the opportunity to play a solo in jam sessions.
Also it is not difficult to mix and match the phrases to create new ones that sound just great. For someone like me who cannot play anything like Stochelo or Birelli it means I can play something which sounds authentic.
WOW! Robins’ stuff is really good, but JUMPSTART really takes it up a notch!
Hi! Robin. I’m so happy that I found this site. You are a great Teacher. I’m really into it. I was wondering….What songs are include in this Jumpstart?
Hi Frank,
Gypsy Jazz Jumpstart is a Masterclass in the song Minor Swing. Robin covers that tune in depth from multiple angles. Let me or Robin know if you have any other questions. cheers.
Keep gj secret
Great lessons! Way to ignite other players into trying something new! You can only benefit, as a guitar player, from this series!
Jason got me in…a fantastic program…thank you…finally someone helps you solo…..
